Verizon Wireless has updated the software for the Network Extender to lock down the boot process to prevent exploitation as of March 2013. The debug port of the device has also been disabled. CAVE authentication for the device has been enabled as of March 2013. These updates have been pushed out over the air to affected devices. Devices that will not update will be deactivated and not allowed access to the Verizon Wireless network.
