Vendor StatementThe default Linux kernel image on Openwall GNU/*/Linux (Owl) 1.1 CDs is not affected by this issue since USB support is not compiled in. Custom kernel builds, however, could be affected, depending on options used. This has been corrected in Owl-current and Owl 1.1-stable on August 15, 2004 with the update to Linux 2.4.27-ow1. More importantly, his update also corrects a number of other Linux kernels vulnerabilities which have similar prerequisites and impact (e.g., CVE CAN-2004-0415).Vendor InformationThe vendor has not provided us with any further information regarding this vulnerability.
